10 Still in Critical Condition After Texas Church Shooting

26 killed, 23 were found inside the church, 2 outside the church and one victim died at the hospital. Officials say there was also an ongoing domestic situation with family members that attended the church. Authorities also revealed the shooter was wearing a ballistic vest with an armor plate on the front. He had bought 4 firearms prior to the shooting, two in Colorado and two in Texas.

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – Freeman Martin with the Texas DPS says 10 victims are in critical condition following the deadliest shooting in the state’s modern history. He added 6 are in stable condition and 4 in serious condition.

There were 26 killed, 23 were found inside the church, 2 outside the church and one victim died at the hospital, he said.

Martin also said the alleged shooter had a private security license. Officials say there was also an ongoing domestic situation with family members that attended the church. Authorities also revealed the shooter was wearing a ballistic vest with an armor plate on the front. He had bought 4 firearms prior to the shooting, two in Colorado and two in Texas. They did not have a determination if the shooter was prohibited from owning a firearm until his military records and other documentation are fully examined.

The press conference concluded with prayer.
