GOP hopeful Ben Carson believes the pyramids were built by aliens. For centuries, the pyramids have been considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, along with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. They have been of interest to archaeologists, historians and tourists alike. The earliest known Egyptian pyramid is the Pyramid of Djoser, which was constructed between 2630 B.C. and 2611 B.C.
The actual building of the pyramids has long been regarded as a nearly impossible feat of engineering and a remarkable show of strength. The ancient Egyptians who built the pyramids may have been able to move massive stone blocks across the desert by wetting the sand in front of a contraption built to pull the heavy objects, according to a new study. A wall painting discovered in the ancient tomb of Djehutihotep, which dates back to about 1900 B.C., depicts 172 men (not aliens) hauling an immense statue using ropes attached to a sledge. ‘In the drawing, a person can be seen standing on the front of the sledge, pouring water over the sand,’ said study lead author Daniel Bonn, a physics professor at the University of Amsterdam.
Carson went on to say that the pyramids were used as storehouses for grain, specifically for grain collected by Joseph in the Old Testament. This is not Joseph who was with Mary in the Christmas story, but Joseph written of in the Old Testament. Genesis 41:47-49 recounts: During the seven years of plenty the land brought forth abundantly. So he (Joseph) gathered all the food of these seven years which occurred in the land of Egypt and placed the food in the cities; he placed in every city the food from its own surrounding fields. Thus Joseph stored up grain in great abundance like the sand of the sea, until he stopped measuring it, for it was beyond measure.
While the story of Joseph’s bountiful crops may have been true, how and why would he have hauled the grain across the desert to place it in pyramids built by aliens. The bible says that he placed the food in every city, not in pyramids Imagine, if you will, alien life forms from some planet millions or billions of light years away, coming to Egypt with the knowledge, strength and foresight to build pyramids. Then imaging Joseph and his followers hauling vast stores of grain across searing desert sands.
Further, why would the Egyptians have put the mummified remains of pharaohs in rooms beside their grain? Why would the Egyptians have amassed tremendous amounts of statues, artifacts and precious metals to store alongside Joseph’s grain? Most importantly why has no one taught this theory or studied the scientific or archaeological basis for it? Why in modern times, have no papers been presented, no books written and no evidence of fact been found? Perhaps it is for Dr. Carson to know and for us to question with healthy skepticism.
