SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Baptist church where 26 people lost their lives in a mass shooting will be torn down.
Earlier this week, Pastor Frank Pomeroy told leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention that it would be too painful to continue using the bullet-ridden church as a place of worship.
Sing Oldham with the SBC, said the pastor described the building as a “too stark of a reminder” of the mass shooting and there is no support among congregants in making repairs.
Pomeroy said he hoped the site of the massacre could be turned into a memorial to the victims, including his own teen daughter.
