President Trump visited Springfield, Missouri’s Loren Cook Company, where two executives had given some of the most political donations in the Ozarks to his 2016 Presidential campaign, to champion giving money to the wealthy in America.
Trump touted his tax reform plan saying that by reducing the top income bracket to 15%. He pinned his opening salvo to get one of his campaign promises on a populist message of helping “main street”. However, Republican members of Congress have already said that the 15% is unrealistic.
“We’re here today to launch our plans to bring back Main Street by reducing the crumbling burden on our companies and on our workers,” Trump said. “The foundation of our job creation agenda is to fundamentally reform our tax code for the first time in more than 30 years.”
He made these comments at a business where the American public was shut out and those that were there had given large sums of money to his Campaign. A large number of anti-Trump protesters showed up in force to let the President know how average Americans felt about what he has done in the seen months that he has been in office. The number of anti-Trump protesters dwarfed the pro-Trump delegation.
